“Visiting Mr. Green” - a benefit for Sergio Mamberti

The 14th Chekhov international theatre festival is hosting 22 productions this year. The opener is a Chinese play called Peony Pavillion. Today the Vladimir Mayakovsky theatre is hosting a Brazilian drama called Visiting Mister Green.

Brazilians have already performed at the Chekhov festival. But the actors from the sunny country are not frequent guests here due to distance between South America and Russia, according to the performers themselves. However, Brazilians are very well acquainted with Russian literature, theatre and cinema. Brazilian stage maestro, Sergio Mamberti, says his favorite Soviet director is Sergey Eisenstein.
