In 1793 the Mint appeared in the Omsk fortress. The building was built in the old Russian palace tradition - with mighty high arches. At various times money, salt and award stocks were kept here, and today an interactive exhibition has opened where visitors can learn the secrets of coinage, the history of circulation and storage of metal money in the Russian Empire. A gurty lathe has been built for the exhibition "Mystery of the Mint".
