Scientists at Sechenov University have made a breakthrough in modern ophthalmology by developing the first functional prototype of a cornea. It is made from collagen extracted from animal ligaments. Thanks to the unique technology of collagen electrodeposition, corneas are durable and hypoallergenic. The technology of manufacturing membranes from such a protein has its own uniqueness.
