Description
Video info

The materials of one of the most outstanding and extended archaeological expeditions in the USSR, which took place from 1937 to 1991, document the programme of desert irrigation in Central Asia. Almost 500 exhibits, including more than 60 archaeological finds, were presented in a modern reading at the exhibition “Split Together, Merged Apart” in the GES-2 House of Culture, which offers to rethink the work of historical imagination with modern art.

What connects archaeology and modernism? How did a large expedition become more than a scientific labour?
