J&K: Govt organises special program for boat owners at Dal Lake

Srinagar (J&K) June 24 (ANI): Department of Tourism organised a capacity building program for shikara and houseboat owners of Dal Lake that aimed to spread the message across the world that J&K is safe for tourists and administration is ready and welcome the foot fall in the UT.
“We have started a capacity building program for shikara and houseboat operators, these lovely shikaras are ready to welcome tourists. We will guide these operators on COVID protocols, a set of SOPs will be provided to them,” Secretary of Tourism Department of Jammu & Kashmir told ANI.
During second wave of coronavirus, the tourism industry of J&K suffered financially but situation is improving now. Shikara and houseboat owners have received vaccine jabs to stay safe.
