Afghanistan where intensified violence is fuelling concerns that the country may again become a hub of instability and terrorism across South Asia and beyond. Dozens of groups that have been present since the Taliban’s last turn in power are again operational, looking for opportunities to expand their reach. People are being killed in explosions across the war-torn country and there is blood and fear everywhere. The security forces in Jammu and Kashmir are trying hard to finish terrorism in the Valley and Pak-backed terrorists are being killed in encounters one after another. Recently three Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists, including Lateef Rather who was involved in the killing of Kashmiri Pandit Rahul Bhat in May, were killed in an encounter with security forces in Budgam district of the union territory.
